NOVA Merchant Bank Empowers 50 Underprivileged Children Through Pediatric Surgery Sponsorship

In a remarkable display of corporate social responsibility, NOVA Merchant Bank has undertaken a Pediatric Surgical Intervention program as a vital component of its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, specifically within its UPLIFT initiative project.

Conducted in collaboration with the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Nigeria (APSON), this initiative has had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of 50 underprivileged child patients receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

APSON serves as the overarching body for all Pediatric Surgeons in Nigeria, focusing on addressing surgical issues in children, specialist education and training in Pediatric surgery, and the continuous enhancement and preservation of the high standards and quality of surgical care provided to children.

This collaborative effort underscores NOVA’s steadfast dedication to community development and its commitment to transforming lives through its UPLIFT Initiative projects, aimed at creating solutions today for a sustainable tomorrow (UPLIFT).

Mr. Nath Ude, Managing Director of NOVA Merchant Bank, explained the motivation behind the bank’s intervention, stating, “NOVA envisions a future where millions have access to healthcare at little to no cost, alleviating needless suffering caused by preventable diseases and untimely fatalities. This initiative is a significant step towards realizing that vision.” He further emphasized, “No child should have their promising future compromised due to a lack of healthcare access,” highlighting the lasting impact this project will have for generations to come.
