Federal Government Launches Website for Vehicle Conversion to Compressed Natural Gas with Pay-Later Option

The Federal Government of Nigeria has introduced a new website that enables vehicle owners to convert their petrol-powered vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The platform also offers users a flexible payment option that allows them to convert their vehicles now and pay the conversion costs in affordable monthly installments. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote cleaner, renewable energy for transportation.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) announced the launch of this platform via its official X handle on Tuesday, highlighting that the payment plan is designed to ease the transition for vehicle owners, offering competitive rates for the installment payments.

The initiative, known as the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi), was introduced in response to the removal of the fuel subsidy and aims to provide a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative for motorists. Conversion stations have been established across various states to facilitate the switch from petrol to CNG, providing a hassle-free experience with online applications and a quick approval process.
