Awka, 23rd June 2023 – In a significant move aimed at enhancing tourism and leisure offerings, the Anambra State Government has given its approval for a ₦2.43 billion contract award to construct a remarkable leisure park known as Solution Fun City in Awka.
The announcement was made by Mr. Paul Nwosu, the Commissioner for Information, who revealed that the decision was reached during the Anambra State Executive Council meeting held on Friday in Awka.
The proposed Solution Fun City, to be located at Park B within the Awka Township Stadium, will encompass a wide range of recreational facilities. The project includes the supply and installation of state-of-the-art outdoor and indoor amusement and waterpark equipment, along with a variety of indoor arcade games and bowling equipment.
Speaking about the project, Mr. Nwosu stated, “The contract for Lot 1, which involves the supply and installation of outdoor amusement and waterpark equipment, has been awarded to Parkvega Waterpark Ltd. for the sum of ₦1.91 billion.” He further added, “Lot 2, encompassing the supply and installation of indoor arcade games and bowling equipment at Solution Fun City, Awka, has been awarded to JCN & Bros Ltd. for N520 million.”
The development of Solution Fun City aligns with the visionary goals of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to transform Anambra State into a vibrant and prosperous smart megacity. The project is expected to elevate the state’s status as a tourism and entertainment destination, attracting both local and international visitors.
Mr. Nwosu emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This project will not only position Anambra State as a departure lounge but will also transform it into a destination lounge, creating opportunities for economic growth and fostering a livable environment.”
The construction of Solution Fun City is set to commence soon, and upon completion, it will serve as a recreational hub that caters to the diverse leisure needs of residents and tourists alike. The addition of this modern leisure park is expected to bolster the state’s economy and further establish Anambra as a prominent player in the tourism industry.
With the approval of this landmark project, Anambra State is poised to become a hub for leisure and entertainment, providing its citizens and visitors with world-class amenities and memorable experiences in a vibrant and captivating atmosphere.
