Ecobank Nigeria has unveiled ‘Kong in a Cage,’ an art installation by Nigerian artist Toyeeb Ajayi, crafted entirely from recycled materials. The piece is now on display at the Ecobank Pan African Centre in Lagos, emphasizing the bank’s dedication to sustainability and environmental protection.
Managing Director and Regional Executive Bolaji Lawal described the initiative as part of Ecobank’s broader mission to foster sustainability, promote Nigeria’s creative industries, and provide global exposure for local talent.

The bank’s efforts align with its environmental campaigns, including the ‘Get Cash for Plastic Bottles’ initiative, which removed over four million plastic bottles from Lagos streets.
Ajayi explained that the installation reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship, urging the public to reconsider their relationship with nature. ‘Kong in a Cage’ will be open for public viewing on weekends.
