
Ecobank Nigeria has awarded over 500 customers a total of N42 million in its “Super Reward ‘Millionaire Geng Promo,'” designed to encourage a savings culture. The grand finale of the promo, which ran from July 1st to December 31st, 2024, was held at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos on Friday. The promo saw customers win various cash prizes through monthly, quarterly, and grand prize draws.
The rewards were distributed across four regions of Nigeria: FCT & North, Lagos, Midwest/South-West, and South-South/South-East. In the monthly draws, 520 customers each won N50,000. Sixteen customers received N500,000 each in the quarterly draws. The grand prize draw saw four lucky customers each taking home N2 million. The draws were conducted transparently and overseen by lottery regulatory authorities.

Speaking at the event, Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Consumer Banking, expressed satisfaction with the customer response and emphasized the promo’s goal of promoting savings. She highlighted the importance of financial discipline, regardless of income level, stating, “It’s not about how much comes in, but how much you can retain.” Ogunyemi explained that the initiative is part of Ecobank’s strategy to reward customer loyalty and promote financial inclusion, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Victor Yalokwu, Head of Consumer Segments & Products, further explained that the promo specifically targeted the mass market segment. While Ecobank has other initiatives for different customer segments, this particular promotion was designed to be more inclusive and reach a wider audience. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to encouraging savings habits while simultaneously rewarding its valued customers.
