The federal government is intensifying efforts to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors, aiming to achieve multi-sectoral linkage in alignment with the present administration’s industrialization and growth agenda.
Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, emphasized the importance of sectoral linkage in driving industrialization during her recent visit to Kam Steel Integrated Company Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest indigenous steel manufacturing companies located in Sagamu, Ogun State.
The minister’s visit aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda to revitalize economic growth through industrialization, with a focus on job creation, infrastructure development, and stable power supply.
Impressed by the state-of-the-art infrastructure and production capabilities of Kam Steel Integrated Company Limited, Dr. Uzoka-Anite commended the company’s contributions to the sector and economy. She reiterated the federal government’s commitment to revamping the nation’s steel sector to boost the economy and generate employment opportunities.
Highlighting Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources as key to economic transformation, the minister emphasized the steel sector’s potential to provide significant job opportunities for the youth and contribute to industrial growth.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite reaffirmed her determination to advance Nigeria’s economy through aggressive industrialization and a robust investment regime, echoing President Tinubu’s mandate to enhance the economy by attracting more investment and creating jobs.
In response, Dr. Yusuf Kamoru, the Group Managing Director/CEO of KAM HOLDING, expressed gratitude for the minister’s visit and assured the company’s commitment to sustaining operations despite economic challenges faced by the sector.
Dr. Kamoru emphasized the vital role of the steel industry in national development, highlighting the company’s capabilities and expertise in producing high-quality steel products essential for various construction projects, including high-rise buildings, bridges, roads, and heavy structures. The company sells its premium brands of rebars under the names ELEPHANT TMT and KAMSTEEL TMT.
