Guaranty Trust Bank Completes Transition to Advanced Finacle Core Banking System

Lagos, Nigeria – Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has announced the successful transition to a new and advanced Finacle Core Banking Application System. The bank communicated this update to customers via email on Monday, assuring them that all branches would remain open until 6 PM to accommodate their needs.

In the announcement, GTBank stated, “We are pleased to inform you that we have successfully transitioned to a new and robust suite of Finacle Core Banking Application Systems.”

This transition, which began on Friday, October 11, initially led to the temporary suspension of transactions and branch closures. While the bank had aimed to complete the transition by noon on Monday, delays extended the timeline, causing frustration among customers. GTBank addressed these concerns in an Instagram post, acknowledging that the process had taken longer than anticipated.

GTBank is now among at least ten other commercial banks in Nigeria utilizing the Finacle system, which is known for enhancing banking operations and customer service. Group CEO Segun Agbaje had confirmed in July 2024 that the bank would undertake this technological upgrade.

As GTBank integrates the new system, customers can expect improved services and operational efficiency moving forward.
