Lagos State Government Urges MDAs to Support Revenue Automation Drive

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Opeyemi Ogungbo, has called on ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to continue backing the state’s end-to-end automation initiative for revenue processes. This appeal was made during a review session of ‘Project Zeal,’ a program aimed at optimizing Lagos State’s revenue processes, managed by O&M Consultants.

The review session, specifically organized for non-tax revenue-generating MDAs, saw the participation of the MDAs’ leadership along with some state government executive members. The session evaluated the progress and milestones of Project Zeal, examining its impact on state-generated revenue against the set targets.

Ogungbo emphasized the importance of relentless support from MDAs, stating, “in supporting the end-to-end automation drive of the state government.” He also encouraged them to aim beyond the 2024 state budget target of approximately N2.27 trillion.

The leadership of the non-tax revenue-generating MDAs reaffirmed their commitment to the goal of full automation for revenue processes and to achieving the 2024 revenue target. Their collective support is deemed crucial for the success of the state’s revenue optimization and automation efforts.
