The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s potential to become Africa’s aircraft maintenance hub, citing the impressive facilities within the industry.
During a facility tour of Caverton Helicopters’ Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday, Abubakar commended Caverton Helicopters’ management for their visionary approach in establishing a state-of-the-art facility in the country. He acknowledged the role of such facilities in fostering economic growth and human capital development.
The minister highlighted that, with the existing facilities, Caverton has the capacity to evolve into a central hub for aircraft maintenance in Africa. Badaru, who is the second minister to visit Caverton within a month, expressed his admiration for the company’s achievements and its contribution to advancing the aviation industry in Nigeria.
