A recent report by global data and business intelligence platform StatiSense has revealed that Nigerian mobile users made over 162 million visits to porn and betting websites in June 2024. The data highlights significant traffic directed towards adult content and gambling sites.
According to StatiSense’s latest report, which was shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) page, the top ten websites visited by Nigerians on mobile devices last month included a mix of search engines, social media apps, and betting platforms. Notably, Xvideos and Xnxx, two adult sites, collectively received 80.18 million visits, ranking second and sixth respectively.
In addition, Nigerian mobile users visited sporting websites a total of 176.83 million times, with 83.1 million visits going to sports betting sites Sportybet and Bet9ja, which secured third and fourth places on the list.
Despite the high traffic to these sites, major social media platforms such as X, TikTok, and Instagram did not feature in the top ten most visited websites. Google and Facebook were among the prominent sites in the report.
