Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al Hilal is preparing a fresh bid to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, signaling that the club has not abandoned its long-standing pursuit of the Napoli star despite previous setbacks.
Sources close to the negotiations confirm that Al Hilal is readying an improved offer for the 26-year-old forward, who has been on the club’s radar since last summer. The Saudi club had an earlier bid rejected by Napoli, but insiders say they are now willing to meet a figure closer to Osimhen’s reported €120 million release clause.
“Al Hilal is determined to bring in a marquee striker, and Osimhen remains the top target,” a source familiar with the club’s transfer plans told reporters. “They believe he’s the ideal fit for their ambitions on both the domestic and Asian stage.”
Osimhen, who netted 17 goals for Napoli last season despite injury setbacks, has yet to comment publicly on the renewed interest. Napoli, under new manager Francesco Calzona, is reportedly reluctant to lose their talisman but may consider selling if the offer meets their valuation and the player expresses a desire to leave.
Al Hilal, currently boasting a squad filled with global stars including Neymar and Kalidou Koulibaly, sees Osimhen as a key piece in maintaining its dominance in Saudi football and pushing for AFC Champions League success.
Transfer negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as the summer window opens and Osimhen returns from international duty with Nigeria.
