Tinubu Urges Nigerians in Diaspora to Stay Connected, Support Nation’s Growth

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians living abroad to remain connected to the country and contribute their skills and resources toward consolidating national development.

Speaking at an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community in Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday, the President said the Diaspora remains a critical part of the nation’s progress and must not “stay away from home.”

The meeting, held at the Kahala Hotel and Resort on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), brought together Nigerian professionals and entrepreneurs across various sectors. It provided an opportunity for the President to highlight his administration’s reforms and ongoing efforts to strengthen economic growth.

“I am delighted to meet you, a vibrant representation of Nigeria’s diversity. We are determined to make Nigeria a conducive place for all citizens, and your expertise and resources are crucial in building a stronger, more prosperous country,” Tinubu told the gathering.

The President was joined by key officials, including the Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Enoh, and the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, who spoke on government programmes and achievements.

Also present was Wale Tinubu, the President’s nephew, who offered insights into the administration’s reforms, noting their impact on making businesses more competitive, attracting investments, and expanding the stock market.

Reiterating his vision for the country, President Tinubu declared that Nigeria is “on the rise again,” stressing that true leadership is about “thinking and doing” combining visionary ideas with practical steps to achieve stability, unity, and growth.
