It was a moment of recognition and celebration on Saturday, August 23, as the Youth Care Project (YCP), a non-profit organization, rolled out the drums to honour Comrade Omolade Ganiyu Akinade for his immense contributions to the advancement of community health initiatives.
The event formed part of YCP’s activities marking the 10th anniversary of its flagship programme, Clinic at Your Doorstep, which has provided vital healthcare services to hundreds of communities across Lagos, Ogun, and Ondo States since its establishment in 2013. The organization itself was founded 22 years ago and has remained at the forefront of grassroots health advocacy.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Adenike Okunrinmeta, Executive Director and Founder of YCP, commended Comrade Akinade’s dedication, describing him as a tireless advocate who has supported the growth and impact of YCP’s health interventions over the years. She also led members of the organization’s executives and stakeholders from the three states in celebrating his contributions.
The Ondo State delegation to the event was led by Hon. Adeyeye, Chairman of the Ondo Legislative Council, alongside other dignitaries. Also present was Alhaji Akangbe B. Olatunde, YCP Ambassador and Ifo Local Government Zonal CDC Chairman, who joined in distributing palliatives to participants as part of the day’s activities.
The celebration brought together YCP members from Ondo East and West, stakeholders from Ogun State, and representatives from Lagos, all united in acknowledging Akinade’s commitment to health development and community service.
The event not only highlighted YCP’s two-decade journey of promoting health awareness but also underscored the importance of recognizing individuals whose contributions continue to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
